Wii os
From WiiLi
Wii OS is a Windows program that makes your computer run an Interface similar to the Nintendo Wii. You can use it with emulators and a Nintendo Wiimote to play your favorite game backups ad roms exactly the same way they will work on a regular Nintendo Wii.
Digg it?. PC GUI + Wiimote + Emus!
"i watched a bunch of youtube videos, and made everything from scratch. (from what i saw on youtube). and im not bullshitting...
um...obviously of course i made a GlovePIE script to go along with the program....i ran the script before i started the video...and then you know, its just like the regular wii. you hit A on the health and safety screen...and the program pops up and what not. you move the hand cursor around...it has every little detail built into it. then when you pick a game, it runs the game selected...(and the emulator to go along with it) and it loads right away, and goes fullscreen and then...you play the game with the wii remote. um...you hit home and you go back to the regular screen...i dont know what else to say lol. basically all i can say, is that its just like the real thing...or pretty damn close.

Wii OS (v1.1 alpha)
what's new:
- i added a small FAQ section to the readme.
- you can manually change options in an ini file.
- couple of small fixes here and there.
- support for running it in a window. (i think it might be a bit slow, tho. i don't know for sure. and it still only runs in 800x600, sorry. but atleast u dont have to change your resolution? lol)
- ....game support. yes, i said it.
- i spent alot of time workin' on this, fixing it up, and i actually even typed up a GUIDE for setting up games. see how nice i am? lol. i hope and pray its not too hard, and its easy to understand.
Wii OS (v1.0 alpha)

LEGAL STUFF: The menu music, and sound effects were ALL made by Nintendo, and they ARE Nintendo's. The health and safety screen is Nintendo's too! But everything besides that, I made. The sounds and such, I just basically recorded off of YouTube Wii videos. If Nintendo decides to go "OH EM GEE, WE GOTTA GET THAT GUY" and e-mail me or something, then I will gladly remove this. No questions asked. I love Nintendo, and I love the Wii.
I also cannot guarantee that this will work on computers running Windows NT, 98, 95, or 2000. I only have Windows XP, and I know it works on both my computers. So if you don't have Windows XP and it doesn't run, I can't help you.
Information:
I made this program one night when I was really bored. Since I don't have the money to buy a Wii, I decided I was gonna re-make the interface on my computer, and make it launch my favorite games. Of course not having a Wii, I needed a resource to get images, see how the interface works, sounds, and music. I turned to YouTube. After looking at a bunch of videos, I went to work. It all started with a blank white screen, and now here it is today, looking great. I used 5 things in making this program:
- MS Paint
- Cool Edit Pro
- The Print Screen Key
- Ulead Gif Animator (to convert images to .gif to reduce size)
- YouTube
And that's it. So, here is a somewhat playable version. If you don't like it, delete it :)
The music player is in here too, to play songs, just take an MP3 file, and place your MP3 files in Music directory. Rename them 1.mp3, 2.mp3, 3.mp3 and 4.mp3 It only plays 4 songs besides the normal menu music. If that sucks to you, go fuckin' download WinAmp. This isn't a music player.
For the music player, I personally used...Goldberg's theme (the wrestler, in case you don't know), Fury of the Storm (by DragonForce), Cowboys from Hell (Pantera), and some yoga song I got from a friend.
Instructions:
Run GlovePIE, run the script included with this program. Then run Wii OS.exe. Congratulations, you win.
Limitations!
It can only be run in 800x600 resolution.
Non-customizable.
Does not run games.
This is probably as far as it's gonna go folks. In order to have it run games, be customizable, and run in other resolutions and add much more to it, I'll have to start all over again, and re-make it from scratch. I'm only gonna do that if I get REALLY bored lol. So enjoy this, even though it doesn't really DO anything. I will NOT release the source, so don't ask. Thanks :) Hopefully someone can make something based off of the Nintendo Wii's interface that we all can enjoy (and customize lol). I hope I'm inspiring someone out there!
A HUGE! Thank you to Carl Kenner, for creating GlovePIE!
And thank you to all of those people who watched my video, and supported me and gave me great comments on my program :) You are all badass to me. Not bad for a teenager who makes cole slaw for a living, right? Haha.
Peace, - John
