Managed to find a blog entry about pairing up with the Wiimote as a bluetooth device.

I've noticed I can't pair a new wiimote to my pc. Given the flash is empty in a new mote does anyone know if you have to pair to a wii first? I don't have a wii and can't verify.

I can now confirm that a new wiimote must be paired with a wii, before it can successfully be paired with a pc under XP/Vista. Can't say for any other OS but I would assume the same is true.

You could also use 4 + 1 2 or 3 to indicate 5 6 and 7 (as in, adding them togeather). Pests 21:58, 16 December 2006 (EST)
- Just read them as binary. That would give you the maximum of 16 combinations.--Beau
- I believe you can only connect 7 bluetooth devices at once, so that's a bit of a waste. Instead, always have light 1 on, and use 234 to count the devices starting from 1 (so that would be seven combinations: 1001, 1010, 1011, 1100, 1101, 1110 & 1111). That way I will be able to tell if I am connected to my Wii (only one light lit), or my PC (at least two lights lit). Twirlip 11:23, 14 March 2007 (EDT)
