We need a skin for the IRC page, if some one is good with CSS, post the html code + CSS here.

A skin for what ? For the Java Applet page or the Wiki page ?--DeadPixel 11:04, 20 November 2006 (PST)

html/css for the page. You can download the current one and change it. Is a plain html file. Wiili 19:09, 21 November 2006 (PST)

[edit] Page name

To change the URL of "irc" issue, this page should be renamed to "Wiili:IRC"

[edit] WiiLi.org - Wii Opera Browser Friendly

CGI IRC link for WiiLi.org

The Wii Opera Browser is great and I can't get enough of it. The only problem is that when I want to chat on irc.freenode.net #wiili, I can't. I was using a CGIIRC to type in the server name and room, but I was not able to send any text. What CGIIRC was missing was a "say" or "send" button. I know that it is possible to modify CGIIRC to include the button because "chat efnet" has a "say" button to send messages via Wiimote. http://chat.efnet.org/irc.cgi?interface=nonjs

  • This shouldn't be too difficult. I've been toying with the CGI:IRC source on my personal server to attempt to get it working. The nonjs interface doesn't seem to work as, for some reason...there is an issue with tabs and what channel you are viewing. I believe you can send messages from the Wii in nonjs interface, but you cannot view what is being said in the channel. This is the case with the PSP at least. Anyway, I tried adding a button to the source, which didn't work. CGI:IRC uses javascript to capture the key presses, so I am using the functions at http://www.allnintendo.co.uk/wiigame/ as a model. Wish me luck! --Possum 18:55, 4 February 2007 (EST)
  • Got it! I haven't gotten the javascript events working the way I'd like them to, but that's a feature to look for later. I found out there is a problem with CGI:IRC on the Opera9 browser even on Linux/Windows. Anyway, I put a how-to for a temporary solution to get it on the Wii at http://possum.kicks-ass.org/2007/02/04/wiirc/. You can try it out by pointing your Wii to http://possum.kicks-ass.org/wii-chat/. Note that I also don't have automatic scrolling working. --Possum 22:29, 4 February 2007 (EST)

Could we have a CGIIRC on WiiLi.org? It would be nice to have a link to such a service. I know that flash would be the best way to go, but we still need to wait for the official Wii Opera Browser.

Can we please get it stated again where the official IRC chnnel is? If not at freenode, then why not?--Henke37 07:40, 24 February 2007 (EST)
