SD card read & write functionality: Boot applications from SD cards and save to them as well. Add your own applications and save profiles for them (Ex. Firefox).
Gamecube peripheral controller drivers if possible (microphone, bongo drums, racing wheel)
Not sure if this is the right place, but the ability to use empty gamecube memory cards and SD cards as extensions to the Wii's RAM.

The ability to move gamecube game saves from the gamecube memory card to either Wii's memory or an SD card. (For back-up purposes)
The ability to copy and move all or multiple saves at once instead of one at a time.
Increasing the number of Mii's and Wii friend codes the Wii is able to have saved in memory. (definitely not a direct Wiili feature, but since the process of crafting Wiili is essentially unlocking the Wii console, maybe it can be made better in the process for people who like the core Wii features)
The ability to save motions from the Wii remote in files capable of being used as gestures or combined into larger animation files/uses for cheap motion capture or body movement monitoring for use with other apps.
