| I wonder how long it will take for Nintendo to make their own wireless bar... |

Because Nintendo doesn't want you to use more batteries when you can just power it with your Wii which in most cases is near enough to the TV that the ~10 foot (or however long) cable can reach.
It wasn't wireless, because it didn't need to be. _________________ -deceased-

As soon as we opened the box we knew we were in trouble. Our cat loves to chew on wires and this one is just the size she loves! We've replaced many iPod earbuds and this wire looked simply too delicious.
So, we have been paranoid about this sensor bar since Christmas day. We all try to keep it behind closed doors, or disconnect it and put it in a drawer (one she can't open). But, alas, today we came home to her latest victim, the Wii sensor bar!
We considered making one ourselves, but with our great electrical skill we've decided to purchase the one offered online.
THANK YOU to all of you inventors! Kudos to you!
Now, we'll have our Wii without paranoia! |

They are making a killing at 25 bucks a pop. I mean, the parts list has to be in the neighborhood of 2 to 4 dollars per unit. That's a lot of profit for each unit.
They could actually cut down on the price by using higher output IR LEDs. Buy them in bulk to get the same unit price per LED and then replace the 4 with only two. |
