This topic might be somewhat similar to "Wiimote and Vista, can send output but can't get input" but I'm not sure..

Hey guys,

We're trying to get the wiimote (and the guitar) to work with a Windows Vista notebook with build-in bluetooth chip (broadcom 2045) and with a Windows XP desktop system (BT: ASUS BTD-201).
Both systems are running version 5.1.2535.0 of bluetooth stack.
Also got a Microsoft eHOME Infrared Transceiver (6.0.6)

Tryed out several tutorials but we can't completely figure it out.
We managed to succesfully connect the wiimote to both the systems:

(I appear not be allowed to post links Sad )
And we can see it in the device list as an HID:

(I appear not be allowed to post links Sad )
We conclude that the connetion is all right since when a button is pushed on the wiimote, the bluetooth led on the dongle actually starts flashing (it does that when it is communicating) and when we look at the communication between the 2 devices it says the wiimote is sending packages and that the signal is between GOOD and TOO STRONG. Also, a little program we installed, called wiinmote, says the wiimote is ACTIVE.

We also installed glovePIE and PPjoy as the tutorial told us to do.
We ran some sort of script in glovePIE, like the following:

Code:

Code:
            alt = Wiimote.Up         // Change Rate-Of Fire
          shift = Wiimote.Down       // Melee
  mouse.WheelUp = Wiimote.Left       // Last Weapon
mouse.WheelDown = Wiimote.Right      // Next Weapon

 mouse.LeftButton = Wiimote.B        // Primary Fire
mouse.RightButton = Wiimote.A        /* Secondary Fire -> Change RightMouseButton
                                        to Aim Down Sight instead of Toggle For
                                        a more CoD3-like experience */

     f = Wiimote.Minus               // Use
     r = Wiimote.Minus               // Reload
   Tab = Wiimote.Home                // View Score
Escape = Wiimote.Plus                // Menu

As you can see it should 'mouse-click' when you use wiimote button B (right?) But the problem is... it doesn't work.. and neither do all the other buttons. I'm sure this has nothing to do with PPjoy since that program only simulates a joystick (for use as a controller is some games, cos windows currently only reads the wiimote as a keyboard) but what else?

To cut a long story short, the 2 devices are connected and can communicate but windows or whatever isn't capable of turning the incoming wiimote signals into keystrokes.

Help is appriciated. And since we're also making a youtube tutorial afterwards, you'll be helping a lot of others too.

I think it might have something to do with the fact that I use the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack ..
Should I use the BlueSoleil one ? And which version would be good for the chip I've got?

Brian Peek helped me with that, he said: It's bad dongle... So we have to buy another dongle or install SP1 for Vista (he said it helped him)...

I hope it will help somebody... If I find another solution I'll post it here...
