|
|
I've looked on the homesite, maybe im jus blind but is the home site keeping track of all the scripts being put into these forums and cataloging them? I understand that the task would be quite daunting, but in the end all the scripts (that have been tested and work Perfectly) would be in some sort of order where they could be found making life much easier on the ppl looking for a specific script...otherwise this is jus a suggestion and i hav no problem jus reading through the forums.
Thx, _________________ Wii Materials

The Wiki (if that's what you mean by the homesite) isn't at the moment. However, that would be a great thing to do. Since it is a Wiki though, Joe Anybody could upload his script even if it wasn't perfect. Just something to consider for the future. Anyway, I'm a bit strapped for time at the moment, but anyone who interested in making the page is welcome too.
Here's a few things that I would keep in mind when creating the database, though.
1. Test out the scripts for what they're meant to be used for first, to ensure quality in the database.
2. Have some way of organizing the scripts. There could be a section for IR scripts (just the mouse control itself for people to use in their scripts), ones for 64 games, PC games, etc.
3. Along the lines of organization, each script would likely have it's own page in the Wiki to reduce space on that page.
4. Might be a good idea to add a new Category called Scripts or something similar and attach that to the script pages.
5. Each script page should follow a similar model for ease. Using a template might not be a bad idea.
Mostly I'm just concerned with organization for ease of use and it just looks better. Any other suggestions would be great, and feel free to start this up yourself. I'll definately be adding it to my watch page.
Great idea thewuse. _________________ -deceased-

Ok I started one. Here's the link. Feel free to add the latest version of your script in the appropriate area. Make sure it works well first. _________________ -deceased-

It would be better if you link the scripts to a PIE-file.
That wiki-pages with the code in are out-of-range. |

Sure no problem. I'll put a section of External Links at the bottom for off site script sites. Just add yours there.

Ya, I was thinking of doing that for complete scripts, or scripts that are over a certain length. Would that just work like photo uploads does, or would we need to use an offsite upload? Too bad the ftp isn't working. _________________ -deceased-

| In my opinion, in order to provide the high quality of the database, a forum based section required to be created first. Programmers will have the ability to receive feedback from the users this way, and scripts can get better and better. |
