Maybe a better way to motivate people, would be to save some of the money generated by ad's and/or donations, to do something all of WiiLi can enjoy, therefore motavating people, and keeping the same advantages open source brings to the table.
The longer it takes, the bigger the price pot.
The only problem i see here, is thinking of something all of WiiLi would value enough that it would make the effort worth everyones extra motivation. Again if you give the prize to top contributors, you take away those benifits, and shun the little people, who just wouldn't bother.
Just my 2 cents.

Yet again the idea will involve using funds raised for Wiili for something other than Wiili. Since those funds pay for the dedicated server it wouldn't seem wise to use them for something else |

People aren't gong to lose interest in this.
The Wii JUST came out and people want to hack it, and until something cooler comes out (and even after this "something cooler" comes out) this thing will continue to be hacked and modded. For a very long time. _________________ www.the-media-vault.com |

agreed
The innovative design of the hardware is an easy target for innovative mods. The more new stuff people can do with a system, the more they'll want to mod it. Its as simple as that. |
