Hi everyone,

i about to find out how to calculate the Rotatin and the Translation of the Wiimote out of the IR Bar, but i need some help.
My idea is to optimize a Least Squear Estimator in respect to the rotation and translation:

argming(R,T)=sum pow( (P[R,t]Pw - Qi), 2)

Pw are the physical IR, Qi are the projected IR on the Image plane
and this 4-times, for every IR

so if we minimize this equation we will get the pure rotation and translation
of the wiimote. My problem is how to calibrate the Wiimote with the IR.
Thats mean, that i have to know the Pw, the 3D coord. of the physical IR

My idea is to find only the focal lenght of the Wii IRcamera, and to constuct tha kamera matix, than to assume that for the beginning the
R=Id, T=0 => K (kamera matrix) * Pw= Qi => Pw= inverse(K)*Qi
But i am not so sure, if I can do this.

Any one some ideas
If we achiev to calculate the Rotation matrix from the IR than we can get the pure acceleration and the translation

[/code]

I think I am following about 1/2 of what you are saying. I'm a bit confused on some of the variables. However, I to am interested in calculating this since I would like to use these values to rotate and translate a cube in OpenGL. The problem with translation is that you would always have to start the wiimote in the exact same position relative to the sensor bar I believe and from what I've been told this also holds for calculating yaw. Without the focal length of the IR camera you cannot calculate anything and I don't believe there is any realistic way of calculating that focal length. If may be understanding what you are attempting to do incorrectly tho.
