i had this idea, i hope this is the right place for it
how about making a cut down version of wiili, from live cd still, that when boots:
a) mounts the sd card to a directory
b) starts a samba server that shares the directory over the network
c) starts wifi with dhcp enabled
d) automatically boots into a file manager type gui (or cui) like midnight commander which would allow the user to:
i) change network settings (to a static ip, manually enter dns servers, and restart samba if needed)
ii) format the sd card
iii) delete individual files on the card
iv) "reboot" the wii
so basically the idea is to make it so that you can access the contents of your sd card through the wii using a samba shared folder, so you can dump files on or remove files from the card without having to take it out of the wii or buy an sd card reader if you dont already have one |
