If anyone is interested am about to start testing the wii whilst doing 3d mocap at the same time to see how accurate it is, will let you know how the accelerometers are performing.

Yes, that is interesting. How would you go about measuring this by the way? Using some kind of industrial accelerometer for comparison?

If you're doing this test, please test using all 10 bits of the wiimote (not just the 8 bits) acceleration data as described here: http://www.wiili.org/index.php/Talk:Wiimote

I will record its motion using 3 d motion capture system
then use that to calculate the acceleration and comapre that with the output form the accelerometers,

Well the initial data looks good

took a while to get real world values from the wii - as I am sing the MAX MSP object to get the txt files data stream out for x y and z

but once smoothed and scale the data is pretty copmparable to the real wolrd mocap data wilpost and example graphical comaprison in a mo

ps: btw could you explain exactly how you did the test? (the code and the gear)
