| None of my computers have integrated bluetooth. I was wondering what was the most compatible bluetooth dongle for the wiimote under windows xp? |

| I have an IOGear GBU221P, it's probably not the most compatible, but it's affordable ($30), USB 2.0, Bluetooth 2.x, Broadcom 2045 chip (same as the Wii has), and using the Broadcom drivers (not the software that it comes with), it works great with Wiimotes in Wiinremote, WDML (MiiTransfer), GlovePIE, Wii Play the Drums, etc...I haven't tried in Linux (I use Ubuntu all the time, but I hate commandline and noncompiled source downloads, if they'd make a GUI and release a binary of it, I'd love to use Wiimote in Linux, until then, I'll stick with Windoze for my Wiimotes). |

There is no 'most compatible' They either are, or they are not.
Some adapters won't allow for certain outputs or services. Which would mean owning one would be pointless as you'd only be able to use, for instance, the accelerometers & not the IR.
So consult the list before purchasing & get one which is 100% compatible. |

There is no such thing as the "best" Bluetooth dongle.
Every one is the same. Don't believe me? Here is the real story:
Once upon a time a rich CEO decided he wanted to get richer by selling bluetooth dongles. So, he called up a sweatshop in some province in China and asked for theirs. "Sure" they said "that would be 50c each".
When the orders came in the CEO sent them into a factory to stamp a sticker onto each dongle which contained the companys name and to get them ready for packaging.
The dongles end up being packaged with a CD containing the free version of BlueSoleil, you go there and buy it, the end.
And that's the damn truth. _________________ [::[_]::]
