What can we do with the WiLi? Customize our own desktop? Go to an internet browser? Or what? _________________ www.the-media-vault.com |

Since Opera will be a free download and optimized for TV set resolutions (a mere 640x480), I sure hope more will be available than using Konqueror.
As far as I can tell, it will be a fully usable desktop. Though obviously due to a lack of large amount of storage, media/whatever will have to be streamed or loaded on SD card/external storage of sorts. _________________ sudo apt-get install WiiLi |

Use open source software that would benefit from a 3D-input based interface.
-Blender 3D:
http://www.blender.org/cms/Home.2.0.html
Use the wiiMote to move the 3D objects around in space with the movements of your hand, making art content creation more intuitive and natural.
-Gimp/Xara/ or any other illustration software (google it)
Whether or not a wiimote would be better than a mouse would be a matter of debate, but I'm sure many of us can think of the possibilities.
-And this is a bit of a stretch, but if this really takes off and enough talented developers get on board, the wiiLii desktop interface could incorporate true 3D elements now that we have an input device that can cope with it. Like reaching behind a window, literally.
Hell, if this is the revolution nintendo wants it will be, we'll even see websites that use the wiimote in applets and this breaks into a whole new realm of possibilities. |

I'm hoping for something like Xbox Media Center.
I already have a Linux box running Slackware Linux and Freevo to serve as my DVR. I'd love to have a thin client that could stream data off the Freevo box to another TV. |

I don't need video in. The files are already residing on the other Linux box. So long as WiiLi supports Samba I'm good, right?
I want to try MythTV, but the guy who introduced me to all this stuff was all about Freevo, and that's just what I've stuck with. Since then I haven't had time to try another program. |
