Hi guys,

first off, thanks to Chaos for a really nice library for the Wiimote.
It looks quite clean and pretty simple to use.

I experience strange behaviour when trying out your example code under MacOSX using the built-in BT-Dongle and MacOS stack.
First time, everything went smoothly, the graphs for the movement sensor came up and data was read, all was great. (And I was pretty impressed with how easy everything was to set up!)

Then I stop the applet, restart it and suddenly nothing works anymore.
The Wiimote is found, paired and recognized properly, but it is no longer possible to send it any commands, the bluecove logging gives me an exception telling me something went wrong in L2CAPSend.
(I cannot post the exact exception right now as I'm currently in the office, but I'll post it this evening.)

Removing the Wiimote from the list of known bluetooth devices does not help.

A reboot will fix the problem, meaning that I can have another "good" run before the error will return and I have to reboot again.

I also tried different ways to terminate the program, like closing the graph window or disconnecting the Wiimote, all with the same result.

This happens on a MacBook Pro (Santa Rosa) running MacOSX 10.5.1 Leopard with all patches installed using Apples version of Java (1.5.0) with bluecove 2.0.2 and the Apple BT-stuff.

Has anyone stumbled upon similar problems? (Maybe not only on MacOSX...)

Hope someone can help me as I want to get on with fiddling with the IR Lights... Wink

Cheers,

Shuzz

Well, first thing would be to post a log (from WiiRemoteJ, so I can see exactly where it's hanging). Second, try it again with the latest version of WiiRemoteJ (uploaded today). That bug should only occur on PPCs, though.

Thanks Cha0s,

I'll try the new version as soon as I get home today.
If that doesn't work either I'll post a log from WRLImpl.

Hi!

I've tested again with the newest lib and unfortunately still no luck.

This was the second launch, first time there were no such errors, but I think there were exceptions when pressing buttons the first time round, but at least the reading of information works.

Any Ideas?

Greetings from Germany,

This is quite strange. I'm running 10.5.1 myself on a MacBook Pro and it works just fine for me. Post the issue on the BlueCove issues list (they're very good at responding to issues). Keep me up to date on how things go with them.

Just to chime in, I've been getting the same issue today with WiiRemoteJ 1.2. It happens every second time I do a WiiRemoteJ.findRemote() call, almost like clockwork. (Twice in about 20 tests I got two successful connections in a row.) Disconnecting the remote and starting over will always result in a successful connection on the second go-round.

For what it's worth, I'm not having this issue with my own half-complete implementation, nor with MoteJ, although I don't see how this could be the fault of the WiiRemoteJ library. :/

I posted the issue to the bluecove list, I'll keep you informed of any updates.
