I too have had this problem, but only on one of my pcs. I'm clutching at straws, but what OS and Version do you use?
P.S. If your Wiimote is staying connected, then your problem is different to mine. |

Hi,
a few minutes ago I was confronted with the same problem.
I first installed my broadcom adapter again and again, reboot etc....
But then I found hundreds of Human Interface devices in the Device Manager under HID and Mice (I don't know the menuentry in english, but you can show all invisible devices somewhere).
After I removed all "grey" (inactive) and removed the usb device itself, I thought it does still not work, BUT after connecting the HID Windows XP needed some seconds to reinstall the removed HID drivers, and then it worked again. (1 and 2 need to be pressed until then.)
Hope it helps.
