if both connections still have a bit of wire connected to them, you can rotate the stripped ends together.
when i was younger i think i did have made some succesfull tape connections or even with elastics, but its a rumble.. i think it wont stay there for long.
as for the glue..that would break the connection..if you have some in your shed you could try liquid metal. and if you really really dont wanna use anything else but tape or glue, ...but this does border, or even cross the ridiculous, you could mix some glue with charcoal from a pensil, or with some irondust.. but i never tried this, so no guarentee that it works;)
..my guess is that it will work, but not as powerfull..increased resistance.
