I think this is another classic case of a grand misunderstanding.

elkin30 here actually thinks the sensor bar is a sensor.

While the rest of you us think he claims to have an ac battery.

Please allow me to add to the confusion.

I believe elkin30 might be referring to a sensor bar with both an ac plug in option and a battery pack (which by the way would be dc)

And NO!, the sensor bar does not sense anything, nor does it send/process or in any other way, work with any information necessary for the wiimote to function.
This idea is about as false as the idea that a lighthouse actually steers a ship into the harbor. All the sensor bar does is provide a set of reference points for the wiimote to calculate it's relative position. Much like the lighthouse only tells the ships captain that he is close to land. This is really not that hard a concept to understand.

hi again,

no, i know what the sensor bar bar is. I know it isn't a "sensor" but my question is: There is a sensorbar being sold online. It has a plug with you can either connect a 4AA battery pack to or an A/C adapter to. I'm wandering which one would be the better choice because I can only select one.

sorry for the confusion.

According to a review on IGN.com the battery option will give you the greatest range and accuracy among all the sensorbars that are commercially available Including but not limited to the one supplied by nintendo. However because the cable going to the battery pack is kind of short, it might be awkward to find a stable place for the bar. The plug-in variant will give you about the same results as nintento's own.
You decide.
