Hi all,
I have a wiimote connected through a d-link bluetooth adapter, have a PPJOY virtual joystick, and I can properly read all input and route joystick input to this PPJOY controller. Everything works almost perfectly.
The problem I'm experiencing is that the general "Bluetooth HID Device" is appearing in my windows game controllers configuration before the PPJOY device. Due to this, applications that do not allow a pulldown gamepad selection sees the bluetooth device itself as the first and only input device, so the virtual joystick input is ignored.
I tried checking and reassigning the JoyID/ControllerID of these devices (to assign the virtual joystick to the first device) and that did not solve my problem. I tried configuring the PPJOY controller before plugging in the bluetooth adapter, that did not help. I verified that when the bluetooth adapter is connected and the wiimote is recognized, I cannot get these applications to recognize any additional gamepad input as the default, usable input device.
Any suggestions? |

Try going into control panel > game controllers > Advanced... > under "preferred controller" choose "ppjoy virtual joystick"

Yep, that's one of the first things I tried, but forgot to mention. That does not solve the problem, but thanks for the suggestion. |

Well i was just guessing anyways because PPJoy virtual joystick was always above bluetooth HID device. |

Okay, for anyone who cares, I've verified what the problem is. I'm sure this will be a problem in other applications as well.
The application is looking for the first game controller device that windows recognizes. Windows has a hardcoded order in which it identifies devices, so it always sees the bluetooth HID device before the virtual joystick, regardless of the order they're plugged in, the configured "preferred device," or anything else like that.
It's a huge bummer that I can't get this to work. Seems like the only possibility is to somehow get the wiimote read through bluetooth without an actual bluetooth HID device ever appearing in the game controllers manager, but I'm fairly certain that if it's not then programs like glovepie will not be able to read any input.
I'm still hoping there's some kind of workaround somewhere to be found... |

Hm I got the same problem.. I tried using the wiimote with Test Drive Unlimited, but it doesn't react to the buttons.. windows sees me pressing all the buttons though..
First of all I tried disconnecting my joystick ofcourse, because the game reacted on that.. but still doesn't work probably that HID thingy... |
