Hi, I'm using CWiid on Kubuntu 6.10. And I want to know if there was any way of reading raw force data. (Swings, shakes, rattles, etc) I'm trying to make a mapping that matches one I saw for GlovePIE, recently, that passes KEY_SPACE whenever the Wiimote is tossed up slightly. (The Half-Life 2 YouTube video) Thanks for the work so far, and keep it up. Smile

Yup. Turn on accelerometer reporting, and you'll get accelerometer messages (including raw force data) delivered to your callback. See cwiid/wmtest and http://abstrakraft.org/cwiid/wiki/libwiimote for documentation (incomplete, but improving).

After posting the above, I realized you were probably asking about how to this from a configuration file. That isn't currently possible, but it would be fairly easy to do from a plugin. Check out (very incomplete) documentation at http://abstrakraft.org/cwiid/wiki/Plugins , and existing plugins in cwiid/wminput/plugins. If you aren't a programmer, submit a ticket at http://abstrakraft.org/cwiid/newticket .

The next version of the plugin architecture will include configurable properties, allowing general-purpose plugins to be written, and configured from a file. I'm trying to avoid over complicating the configuration file grammar, but if the plugin way ends up being cumbersome and ugly, arithmetic and logical operations could be added, similar to what GlovePIE currently uses. Thoughts?

Sounds fantastic. I'm not much of a programmer; I do some clumsy C++ and slightly better Java, but I will give it a shot as for the whole plugin idea. If I have any success with that, I'll post what I come up with. However, do expect to see a ticket, soon. Razz

EDIT: No luck at the programming side of things. I took one look at the complexity of acc.c and nearly wet myself... So, yeah... Well, I hope to see the implementation in the next version. (Or, perhaps someone else will make the plugin.)
