I've been looking over all these posts and your Wiki, and it all sounds great. I've installed Linux several times on this PC (and even OSX, but don't tell the government!), and it could be great. However, you're going to need a killer interface for it to work. I'm only a web programmer, but I'd love to help make WiiLi as user friendly as possible. So, I wanted to know if you have a team assembled to take on this project, or if it's just yourself. If so, then I'd love to help you with the frontend!
WiiLi definitely has a lot of potential, and it seems like most of the work is done for you with GCLinux. If you can gain access to the Wiimote's data (which should include the infared data), then we can do a lot.
Try contacting me at angry fishtank (AIM) or squeakypants@gmail.com (MSN or GTalk). I'd love to be a part of this.
On a sidenote, the Virtual Console is going to have some kind of homebrew support, but I'm not sure as far as it will extend. However, WiiLi really wouldn't have any boundaries, so I'm very excited. Imagine gIMP or blender on the Wii! |

Speaking of Wii-mote, I have one question.
Didn't the wiki say that you can use the Wiimote? How would Wiili linux be able to utilize it? And connect with it? |

| He doesn't know right now, but the idea is that Linux would recognize the Wiimote and all it's inputs, which would allow WiiLi to use it however it wants to. So I'm thinking on-screen pointer for the basic interface, but for homebrew software you could really use it however you want. |

| Writing drivers for the wiimote it's probably going to be the hardser part of the project. I need to get my hands on the Wii an start testing before I can develop on your question. |

Ok, Thank you!
(Did you know that the Built-in Wii Operation System is based on linux? Maybe somehow you can try to find Nintendo's drivers buried in there, somehow.) |

Well, the best thing you could do is buy a Wii SDK. It's only $2000, which is ridiculously cheap for a console SDK, but I don't have that money sitting around
wiili (the user), could you contact me? I'd love to talk about the project |
