Yes, it should... hrmmm... well, give me a few days. I'll try to get the release out by Sunday. If I don't manage to get the 5DOF stuff in, I'll probably still release on Sunday. Oh well. Sorry for the delay! _________________ Cha0s |

| Forgive me if this has already been answered somewhere, Cha0s, but is there a reason you haven't open-sourced the WiiRemoteJ library? This looks like the kind of bug that might be much quicker to resolve with some community involvement. |

Thanks for the reply, Cha0s. I figured it was something like that. Actually, though, the recent bug with WiiRemoteJ via Bluecove has been good for me, 'cause it's made me actually learn something about bluetooth communications through Java. I wrote my own quick and dirty library for what I wanted to test out, and it was a wonderful learning experience. I actually might just keep going with my implementation so I can learn more about the innards. |

Hi All,
Recently, I've tried using WiiremoteJ + BlueCove and Bluesoleil, but it didn't work due to the bug mentioned and also according to BlueCove documentation on their website, they didn't recomment Bluesoleil as BT stack for newbies like me, and it is true, When I tried motej library, it also caused an error that L2CAP was not supported by BlueCove on Bluesoleil. SO I decided to replace my BT stack using WIDCOMM but it was really difficult to find a matching WIDCOM driver for my BT device (No brand). Thankfully I found one. So everything's working fine now.
Anyway, thanks to all those people actively participating in this forum.
Thanks,
Marc |

Hi all,
At first I didn't get it to work (also the winsock error mentioned in another thread), but then I removed all bluetooth drivers from my machine (Toshiba Satellite) and installed the WIDCOMM drivers. I got them from their site (www.broadcom.com, goto the page /products/bluetooth_update.php and select 'Download Now', this will download the installer that downloads and install the drivers). I have a Sitecom CN-500 USB dongle. On http://www.jonsguides.com/bluetooth/tested.html you can find compatible devices.
There's one problem I noticed when I terminated the testprogram: I had to reset the computer to be able to connect again. The solution was simple: use the Power switch of the Wii remote and the program will terminate nicely, and the next time you can connect again.
Good luck & happy coding! |
