OK so I have connected My Wii Remote to My Vista-based Computer.
I used a Bluetooth Dongle and BlueSoleil driver.
Everything works fine but....
I try using GlovePIE.
it wont work.
everytime i run a script for Mouse Emulation (IR or Accel. Based) my Computer just stops and I get a Blue Screen that says there is an error and it restarts my computer. |

it's not glovepie it's not vista it's blue soliel the newest versions for some reason have an error in it and it crashes with any program that uses it not just glovepie.
some possible fixes
1. an older version of blue soliel which you have to hunt for on the web
2. if your dongle has an installation cd or disk with drivers other than blue soliel use those
3. download the newest broadcom drivers from their site which is listed as just an update if i remember right and use those. takes a little playing with it and it doesn't give an option for pairing to skip but it does offer a passkey option that you want to set to no passkey, and you have to run it with bluetooth fix checked in glovepie as well as it may take a few attempts but you need to manually calibrate the wiimote in glovepie. but it does work.
on a side note if your dongle came with drivers other than blue soliel you may have to copy them to your hard disk and go to properties on the setup.exe and set it to run in windows xp compatability mode in order for them to work with vista.
yes i know it sux but both blue soliel and vista have made bluetooth a royal pain as of the current moment in time.
hope this helps |

On a side note...
i was lucky enough to buy an advent (ade-c1edr) dongle, and it has never failed me, using just the proprietary MS buetooth stack drivers, within both XP and vista...
