Go here and carefully read the terms and sign if you agree with them. This discrimination must end in a peaceful way.

I see no reason why the author should change the license. Feel free to write your own GlovePIE clone (it is not that hard if you are a Delphi programmer).

He should change it because an open-source community should not contain discrimination.

Discrimination? Kind of like how I can't get a scholarship from the United Negro College Fund? Deal with it, the world is an unfair place. Merry Xmas to you. Hope I didn't offend you by saying Merry Xmas Rolling Eyes

That fund only helps people, this ban isn't helping anyone in any way.

If that isn't discrimination then what is?

The author put that clause into his license as a means of pushing/inspiring those effected to go about changing what's happening in their country. While it might be a strange (and marginally effective at best) method of creating change, it's still his right to limit who uses his software.

Now, if he put something like "You can't use this program if you're not white and do not support the Aryan Nation," then it would be discrimination, because the word itself is defined thusly:
Quote:
unfair treatment of a person or group on the basis of prejudice
And I think we all know he's not doing this based on prejudice.

Also, one of the "rules" of OSS dictates that you cannot discriminate against any person or group. But the main rule of OSS is that the software must be open source, and GlovePIE isn't even open source. This alone negates your argument.
