isn't there the possibility that this license combined with several other factors will contribute to mobilize people to make the changes Carl is hoping for?

haha. Nobody is forcing anyone to use GlovePIE, so everyone should respect Carl Kenner and his great effort of creating GlovePIE.

As I said before: Israel cares about not being able to use GlovePIE... why? Other factors may mobilize people, but this isn't going to be one of them. It's not a serious issue, even for the people who aren't getting to use it. It's really just an annoyance.

Of course, but I don't have to agree with him. That's how freedom works. Everyone gets an opinion, and the right to express his/her opinion. Then Carl reads this (or not if he doesn't want to), and if he agrees, he changes his mind, and if he doesn't, he doesn't. That's how discussions work. No one's trying to put down Carl or say Carl sucks or is a "retard" or anything like that. GlovePIE is amazing and Carl did a great favor to a lot of people by making and making it available totally for free. Trust me, I have nothing against Carl personally, nor against GlovePIE, and I'm not saying we should boycott GlovePIE (that would be wholely unproductive).

Mature discussions aren't about name-calling and bashing, or throwing hissy fits when you don't get your way. There's a way things are, and there's a way I (or someone else) think things should be, and so, we discuss. That's all there is to it.

Nobody probably cares what I think but I'm gonna tell y'all anyway.

The bottom line is this.

Glovepie is a cool program and respect anyone automatically if they make cool programs. (Some exceptions here but you get what I mean...)

However, banning a certain groups of people from using it is kind of childish. What is it really gonna achieve? FA most likely. He just annoying the occasional person who happens to want to use it and who happens to come from that country he banned from using it. (I'm thinking it was Israel but my mind occasionally goes to mush these days...)

So the moral of the story: If he wants to, he can and you should all respect that. Though banning people is noobish. ( I dislike Nazis but i'm not banning Germans from visiting my website...)

OK lecture over.

Now GTFO.

(Flame away Cool )

NOTE: How the hell do I have one private message? When I click it I get

"Private messages are disabled on this forum..."

Lets hope it's not important...

I was bored today, so I did some reading. It actually looks like Carl's license may very well be illegal under Australian law. Specifically, see here.
Quote:
It is unlawful for a person who supplies goods or services to the public or to any section of the public:

(a)
to refuse or fail on demand to supply those goods or services to another person; or
(b)
to refuse or fail on demand to supply those goods or services to another person except on less favourable terms or conditions than those upon or subject to which he or she would otherwise supply those goods or services;
by reason of the race, colour or national or ethnic origin of that other person or of any relative or associate of that other person.

Emphasis added.
