Hi,
i'm new here so hi everybody.
I just wanted to ask if there is still any development going on with OpenPIE. I'm a Ubuntu user and looking for a way to get GlovePIE working or getting an alternative. Since this forum isn't really crowded with people, i ask myself if OpenPIE is still an option?
Cheers,

Well, sadly the project has not been worked in for a while now. The main reason is that Mark (SwedishFrog) and myself have been quite busy to actually contribute. This shouldn't limit the development, since we told everybody that our code is available at request. However, nobody seems to be interested enough/have enough time to continue the project. I wouldn't say that the project is altogether dead, but I don't think it will be releasing too soon. I am sorry for that. If you are interested in development, here are some specs:
-It will use Cha0s' wiimote library
-Will have all (most?) functionality that GPIE does
-Compilation engine created with JavaCC (it was the most accepted)
-Grammar file available if anyone wants to see/use it (email me or Mark) _________________ Not all mexicans enjoy tamales and piñatas, and tacos aren't really made that way!

Hey Luis,
thanks for the headsup. It's somewhat surprising for me that there is this less interest in an open source version of GlovePIE. It's really easy to get into and i haven't seen any useful Linux alternative to "real coding".

Hi! I would like to contribute with the developement. I honestly not a experienced programmer since I am learning now, but maybe I can do something and openpie is something I'd like to see soon very soon.
How can I get the code and see if I can help, and how can I submit the changes I made? Is there any svn repository or something like that?
Thanks! |

Well, If you want the code so far, email me and I will send it.
For the time being, you can submit the changes to me or Mark. We have a sourceforge account, http://sourceforge.net/projects/openpie/ but I haven't had the time to set it all up either. _________________ Not all mexicans enjoy tamales and piñatas, and tacos aren't really made that way!

I've just moved from Win to OSX in the belief that using the Wiimote I can create as-complicated-an-environment-as-i-was-making-in-GlovePie on Win, but it seems not. Whyare all the Wiimote progs designed for gamers? Where are the Wii2Midi apps? and not DarwinRemote - four buttons, can't do anything with the home and up/down keys.. no thanks!
Is this still in creation or should I go back to WIN for my Wii2midi fun?
