This is weird..
Yesterday I set up my wiimote for the first time on my new computer (dell xps 1530) and it worked fine (vista 64 btw). I used WiiYourself demo program and it was able to detect all the key presses and battery data and everything.
Now today, I wanted to play around with it some more, but wasn't quite sure how to re-pair the remote, as it was already win the bluetooth devices list even if it wasn't turned on... So I tried to remove it and re-add it..
Now neither WiiYourself nor WiinRemote detect the remote, but glovepie apparently picks it up, but can only interface with the rumble and led functions. Pressing buttons does not seem to have any effect.
I think the problem lies in the HID device driver, as I had to reinstall it (i've tried both HID-compliant device and hid-cmpliant game controller.. what is it supposed to show up as precisely?)
Anyone know what might be up? I've tried rebooting And re-pairing about 500 times.. |

Generally, you should NOT have the Wii Remote in that list. Let each individual application pair with the remote on its own. _________________ Cha0s |

Umh... Are you sure about that?
Either way, if I remove the wiimote from my bluetooth panel, glovepie doesn't work at all (yes, I hold buttons, etc)
I didn't think any application did it's own pairing.. |

On the Mac, the procedure is usually to launch the application and then press the 1 + 2 buttons on the remote (well, this has been my experience with DarwiinRemote (the Mac version of WiinRemote) and other Mac applications I've used).
However, it may be different with GlovePIE/Windows. I would definitely examine the pairing process. This video does a nice step-by-step: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_pQSGYzfKU
(Note: you don't need to hold the buttons down. The remote will remain discoverable with lights blinking for 30 seconds after they are pressed). _________________ Cha0s |
