I have been working with Glovepie and various scripts from this entire site, and in the process I have found that every time I try to do anything with the Wiimote alone, it works. But I get a blue screen of death every time I try running any code regarding IR, Classic Controller, Nunchuck, or the Wiimote speaker. The blue screen says every time that it has to do with "BAD_POOL_HEADER". Any help or at least some clarification would be appreciated
Dell XPS M1530 (will give more details upon request)
Running GlovePIE 0.3
Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit with SP1
Have WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software 6.0.1.5200 installed
Using BlueSoleil 6.0.223.0
Using Kensington Bluetooth 2.0 USB Adapter 2.0 (K33348USA)
Have no problems with the Wiimote itself, or connecting it to PC, or sending code to it from GlovePIE.
If anyone needs to see a picture of the blue screen, let me known.
I also reposted this in the WiiScripts section. I want this problem to garner enough attention to actually produce a solution (or at least a step in the right direction). This is a real issue, not the fiction of some idiot who never reads through all of the other posts. Any (genuine) help would welcome. |

ugh, I'm experiencing the same problem. Blue Screen Of Death.
edit: may as well list my stuff to see if you can find anything:
Dell inspiron 1420
GlovePIE30/029 (both crash the computer)
Blue Soleil 6.0.227 for 32bit
Windows XP Home SP2
Dell 355 Module with Bluetooth 2.0
edit: I think the problem may be related to Blue Soleil, I uninstalled it and tried using my normal bluetooth driver, and discovered that when I use that one, it doesn't crash my computer. then again, it could be because my normal driver doesn't interact very well with GlovePIE. I feel that it sends signals to the wiimote (I can get rumble and LEDs to work), but I don't think it sends signals from the wiimote (accell data, button-presses, etc.).
edit again: I updated my widcomm driver to the version on the wiili compatibility page ( 5.1.0.3400) and I'm experiencing a problem where it keeps disabling my wiimote because i'm not pairing it. I didn't have this problem with driver version 5.1.0.3200, but with that driver, I had the problem where the wiimote would only recieve data and not send data. I'm about to rip my hair out; i've been cursing up a storm at windows. I hope there's some way to get glovePIE working on ubuntu some time soon. |

sorry for the double post, but I thought this was relevant and might shed some light on the topic at hand:
http://wiibrew.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_Working_Bluetooth_Devices
| Quote: | * Dell Wireless 355 Module with Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR Technology (WIDCOMM, tested on a Dell Inspiron E1705)
* (Jan 19-2008) Doesn't work on Dell Inspiron 1520 on Vista with any Dell WIDCOMM driver or microsoft stack (even though it is a broadcom device the drivers from the broadcom web site refuses to be installed for this device). The Wiimote gets connected and GlovePIE sees it with the bluetooth hack and allows setting leds and rumble but can't read any buttons, camera or accelerometer data. Wiinremote recognizes the device but can't receive any data.
* (Jan 19-2008) The bluesoleil hack for this device sometimes makes it work for a couple of minutes before requiring a reinstall to be able to see it again and also breaks compatibility with some other bluetooth devices (headsets mostly).
* (Feb 12-2008) I attempted it with my original WIDCOMM stack and had no luck. After I went out and purchased a Kensington USB dongle and installed the included WIDCOMM stack. After I did, I tried out the internal Bluetooth and it worked. So, it seems if you get an updated WIDCOMM stack you can get it to work, because I got it working, no weird hacking required. |
edit: give this a try and see if it works, it is the most recent Vista driver I could find
http://support.us.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R140135&formatcnt=1&libid=0&fileid=188664
I'm gonna see if I can find myself a working XP driver/stack for glovePIE, but if they don't work, I'll see how I fair on Vista.
edit: Success, I've finally gotten it working. GlovePIE is AWESOME. |
