| I just had the thought that Nintendo might make WiiLi before the hackers do. Why would they do this? Because it saves them money. When WiiLi comes out there will be lots more people playing pirated games even though the WiiLi foundation doesn't support it. This is bad for Nintendo because that will mean a drop in virtual console sales. However, if Nintendo makes WiiLi they can put things on it that make it so you can't play pirated games. Then if some hacker changes it so that he can play the pirated games Nintendo will detect it and fry his system. It would still mostly be open source (Except the security code.) so long as too many people don't do something dumb and make Nintendo mad. With the kind of mind blowing things that Nintendo does I would not be surprised to see this happen. I would also be even less surprised if it didn't happen. Not to mention that they could make it download able from the shop channel and it would save a lot of people from finding out their "backdoor." Assuming they wouldn't put to many restrictions on it, (just the things to keep people from making it illegal) it would be a amazingly easy way to get something like Linux on the Wii. I for one would be satisfied, assuming there are plenty of programs for it of course. Now on the other hand if hackers make it in comes the pirated games and their sales go down. If people figure out the so called "backdoor" then people might even be able to copy Wii games. Double ouch! I do not support pirated software so I hope Nintendo makes this. Please tell me what you think. |

interesting concept.....I think as long as this doesn't harm gamers nor homebrewers, this would be great

| yeah that would prevent alot of problems for nintendo. (if wiili ever does come out) |
