Hi,

I have a problem, I ordered a sensor bar from Nintendos Customer Service, cut the cable and soldered a 4 Pin connector from an old case fan to it.
Now I can power it through my pc's power supply using the yellow 12V and the black ground cables.

BUT the sensor bar, or better the LED's, get so damn hot, that I cannot touch it after being on for about 1-2 minutes. I know its IR and its supposed to emmit heat, but I had had a Wii some month ago and its sensorbar didn't get hot back that, and by hot I meant HOT like fire.

Are 12V two much? Did anyone ever heard/seen anything like that?
I know the Wii also outputs 12V to the sensor bar but may be it gives the led less Ampere then my PC?

..try a resistor in the positive wire of the sensor....something low...lets see...

try 1 volt drop...
to find resistor its...
u=r*i
r=u/i
r=1/i

substitute "i" with the Ampere's that the bar consumes....i would say something about 0,5 A...search forum to be sure....never used stock bars don't know what could it be other then to much Voltage.
