Hi. I'm Tom a 26 year old university student. This is my second college, after getting a nearly useless post dot-com bust(started during the boom, though) Associates degree in Network Administration and not doing all that much in the interm.
My interests include; embedded systems (designs and implementations of them), getting things to do what they aren't supposed to, and looking up chips in devices to learn their functions. |

Hi, my name is Josh and I'm an alcoholi- oh, wait.
The Wii is an interesting are of technology as far as I am concerned. It's a hands-on look at the future of computing in the public domain. So I really do want to see it cracked wide open. Such a piece of technology should not be locked. Yes, a home user can easily produce something pretty much identical and open with existing available hardware, but that would never replace the userbase Nintendo already has nor would it be as "neat" as the Wii, nor as challenging or fun or worthwhile as trying to crack it.
I'm not a programmer though I do have some hands-on experience with php and mysql. I'm not a hardware expert. I don't even own a Wii... yet. I do have a wiimote. I'm not even a real gamer as I don't much like modern console games. I like to tinker with stuff. I am a conscientious gnu/linux user, for whatever that's worth. I have an interest in this project and I don't really have a place in it other than "cheerleader". You could call me an enthusiast.
The only way I can help out is by posting on the forums and editing the wiki if I have something valuable to add, which so far I have done twice. So that's what I'm doing. |

Hello there!
My name is Alex, and I'm a 21 year old swede.
One year ago, I bought the xbox(1). I modded it, and downloaded every xbox game I could find, and tried it. I'm still playing games, but now I mostly use it as a media center.
When Sony announced their new PS3 console, I didn't care much, until last fall, when I became a (but not entirely) a PS3 fan. But it's now come to my mind that gaming isn't about playing some high-def killing games. That's not what I like. Now I use my xbox gaming just to kill off some time, and sometimes I feel bad that I can't find any fun games on the xbox.
So last week I went downtown to reserve a Wii console. So now I'm >30 in the queue. |
