I believe there's gotta be an optic arranjement that would put a candle (or incadescent light bulb for that matter) light in a big(ish) area with realivelly good field of view...I dunno how it would be exactly, but at least for me the idea seems feasible....

The farther apart the Infrared lights are from each other, the farther you have to be from the sensor bar.

Take apart the sensor bar and remove the actual casing. Be careful not to damage the wires or the Infrared LEDs. There are 10 Infrared LEDs. Take 5 of them, and move it as far as you can away from the other 5. Duct tape each group of 5 onto a piece of cardboard. Only use 1 piece of cardboard. Just tape it to opposite sides.

If you need them to be farther apart, Carefully cut a wire and take some of your own wires (any basic kind would work), and Strip both ends of your wires. Then strip the wires on from the sensor bar. Carefully twist the wires together to create an "extension cord". Duct tape the wires so they don't untwist. Do this for the other wires until the groups of 5 are a reasonable distance apart.

Please don't gravedig. This topic is almost half a year old. Your post doesn't have any particularly new or innovative information to justify reviving this post. iLock.
