|
|
| This has been bothering me for a while. When calibration was introduced, I messed with it a bit before actually giving much thought to what was going on. So, just for my own peace of mind, what exactly happens when you try to calibrate your Wii Remote through GlovePIE? It doesn't rewrite the calibration data in the remote's memory, does it..? Or does it? I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm paranoid... so any help in clearing this up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

| It finds the correct offsets and then stores them in the wiimote.ini file located in the main GlovePIE directory. |

| Yes. Before GlovePIE had the built-in Wiimote calibration, everyone was doing it the manual way: showing results in the debug window and forcing you to slightly change offsets until the debug window showed all zeros. These manual offsets should not be used anymore. |

The calibration is stored in an INI file, under Wiimote1, Wiimote2, etc. If you have multiple wiimotes and you connect them in a different order, or connect a different one, then it will use the wrong calibration.
You can also choose to use Built-in calibration, and then close the calibration window. In which case it will try to read the calibration data from the Wiimotes each time.
Calibration doesn't affect the RawForce values. It affects the values like gx, RawAccX, RelAccX, Pitch, and Roll. RawForce is for backwards compatability only. |
