Hi all, this is my first post on the forums here. I spent hours trying to figure out how to get my wiimote working ... and I did finally figure it out after I read to use the red button on the inside instead of 1 and 2 to connect.
I noticed that when I restarted my computer, the Wiimote connected, and I had 4 items under Human Interface Devices in the device manager. However, when I ran glovepie, it showed the wiimote was connected as a joystick but when I ran a script it didn't work and device manager refreshed and only showed 3 items. They were bluetooth hid device, bluetooth remote control, and hid compliant consumer control device. The fourth one was HID compliant game controller.
I went into my bluetooth settings, clicked on the nintendo wiimote item, and went to settings, and unchecked the services box, pressed apply, then rechecked it and then pressed apply, and the fourth item, the HID compliant game controller came back in my device manager. However, when I ran glovepie again, it did the same thing, and disconnected it.
I hope this helps somebody figure out what's going wrong, as I can see other people are having problems connecting and whatnot. If I press the red button by the batteries on the wiimote I can get it to work again, but I'd like to know if there's a better way or to autoconnect.
Also, I don't know what bluetooth stack I have. I have a Belkin Bluetooth USB Adapter that I got from Circuit City, and I have Windows Vista Home Premium. I actually downloaded the Toshiba stack and the WidComm stack, and I have the Microsoft stack, but I honestly don't know which one I'm using or how to change it. I didn't want to use BlueSoleil because I read it has a limit, then I take it it stops working after a while? All help is appreciated.
Thanks,
