Hey,
I hope somebody can help with this. I've been interested in what's going on here, particularly with ways of getting my mac mini (running XP) to work with Wiimotes so I can control it from the comfort of my armchair. So, when I got my Wii this weekend, the first thing I investigated was software such as WiinRemote. Well, I spent about 4 hours today trying to get them to connect, without really getting anywhere. I even tried both my Wiimotes. They connect via bluetooth, but don't get any further. WiinRemote can't do anything.
However, that isn't my main problem. The problem I have is that both Wiimotes no longer work with the Wii. I'm serious. They're completely stuffed! I've repeatedly tried to sync both Wiimotes using the red buttons on the console and inside the battery compartment, but the LEDs on the remotes just keep flashing and they refuse to work. I can't operate the Wii at all.
Has anyone heard of this before - or is there a better place to post this? I'm completely out of ideas - help!!!!
Thanks,
Chris. |

it might be possible one of the programs you tried, or your bluetooth stack made the 'motes change some setting inside of it
I've not yet heard about, but if you find you could try using a program that tells the wiimote to write in its memory the factory values _________________ please put the scripts on the wiki so they dont get lost as new stuff is posted!

oh, I've jsut remembered somthing, people usually say Nintendo often replaces hardware without asking much questions, it coudl be an option when you give up on your current wiimotes _________________ please put the scripts on the wiki so they dont get lost as new stuff is posted!

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply. I've actually tried to reply to this twice now - the forum keeps stopping me - hopefully third time lucky!
I found an earlier post I somehow missed. It suggested holding the power buttons down for longer than 5 seconds on the Wiimotes - that worked!
I'd tried just about everything, but I guess I didn't try that
Now if only I can get them to work on a Mac Mini running XP...
