Are you sure you've correctly installed the WIDCOMM stack? Can you connect to Bluetooth devices via WIDCOMM outside of WiiRemoteJ? _________________ Cha0s |

Hi Fizi, I had the exact same problem for a while. Make sure that you first unstall everything to do with bluetooth from your computer i.e old versions of bluesoleil and widcomm. Then try and reinstall the widcomm driver.
It could also be that your bluetooth device doesn't work with widcomm. What device are you using? |

Well I'm pretty sure you guys are right and its something to do with widcomm.
I uninstalled bluesoleil and reinstalled widcomm afterwards. But despite my best efforts, I can't get widcomm enabled at all anymore! When I run with:
| Code: | | java -Dbluecove.stack.first=widcomm -cp ./;WiiRemoteJ.jar;bluecove.jar WRLImpl |
it acts dumb and runs winsock instead of widcomm! When I go to my control panel, the control panel entitled 'Broadcom wireless utility' shows nothing except the message 'no adaptars' and gives me no option other than to press OK. On the other hand, the generic windows bluetooth thing entitled 'Bluetooth devices' works just fine and I can use it to detect the wiimote.
As far as installing widcomm goes, I simply ran the setup.exe in the download. When I go to the site at w w w . broadcom . com /products/bluetooth_update.php which was listed on these forums by another member, it tells me: 'No bluetooth device was connected'.
Looking in device manager, the manufacter of the thing looks to be 'Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd'. The thing itself says "Connectland: Module USB Bluetooth". |

It seems to me that you usb dongle is using the microsoft drivers. They wont work with this WiimoteJ software.
Did you follow the steps that I posted previously about how I got my widcomm driver to work? Its for vista but i'm sure the principles would be the same.

Here is another link that might help you

I have a couple of idea of things that you should try.
First you should check to see if the correct drivers are installed for you device. Could you open device manager. If you are not sure how to open it follow this link
http://www.cybertechhelp.com/tutorial/article/device-manager-basics and check the properties of your bluetooth device and check the name of the driver that it is running and that the device is working properly.
If the driver manufacture is Microsoft or IVT corporation, you didn't install the Widcomm stack correctly. If should say Broadom if it is the correct driver.
Next you should check if you can start your bluetooth software. When you right click on the icon on the task bar. You could get an error saying that the software isn't licensed for your device or something along that lines. If you follow the steps on how to get it working on vista it could help. |

bluecove = 2.0.2.2
And you're right, its running microsoft drivers not widcomm. I guess I'd thought that running the setup.exe was sufficient!
I had a browse over those 2 links you gave, and I'll run through them tomorrow at work. Hopefully I'll post here again that it all works! *crosses fingers*
Thanks! |
