Hi all, this is my first post.

This is a nice project. With a nice emulation of mouse to the remote, this baby would be sweet. Add to that a wireless keyboard and bam!

I'm glad I ran into this project; I'm making a set of standard game tools for linux. It's a Virtual Machine/Compiler combo, that will allow easy development of 3d and 2d games. Think of a mixture of java/php/unreal-engine. The Compiler generates bytecode from a new language, designed 100% for games, called Master Code, to be ran on the Bolt Virtual Machine. The Virtual Machine is the environment where the game is ran, which you control by writing classes using Master Code.

This project, Willi, will be a nice addition to the Wii already impresive capabilites. I'm definetly going to have my hands on updates, and I hope to be helpful around the forum.

Hey,
Thanks for the reply. I was beginning to feel left out. LOL.

As I mentioned, I'm excited about the WiiLi project. Running linux will allow us to push the Wii farther than it can already go.

As you guys know, most of us want the promotion of Linux and free software in a legal manner. Running illegal software(not that WiiLi is illegal) such as game-roms on the Wii is going to give Nintendo a reason to try and go after the project. If we provide alternative means of creating game content in a legal way, then Nintendo could promote it as an added benefit. Currently, Linux is not a very attractive platform for game development, because of the lack of tools for doing so. This seriously leaves out 1000's of developer who want to create games, but can't.

I few years ago I set out to change that. I started the Bolt Platform, as described in the original post. I just finished the website for the project, a few hours ago.
The URL is http://www.agoba.com

I don't want to take resources away from the WiiLi project, but since coding on it hasn't started yet, I would like to ask you guys to visit the Bolt Platform's homepage (www.agoba.com). I just put up the first release of the source code. I, like WiiLi, could also use any help I can get.

WiiLi's goal is to bring Linux to the Wii. The Bolt Platform's goal is to create a kick-ass game platform for Linux. I see the 2 projects having a symbiotic relationship -- helping each other out.

I hope the 2 projects prosper together.

Guess I'll chip in and say hello myself!

But I have two questions for you vlad:

1)Is Bolt Platform going to be compatible with WiiLi, or are you just sharing info between the two projects to help each other out?

2)If you ever decided to make Bolt Platform compatible with WiiLi, would it be for developers only, or would it be user-friendly so that anyone can pick it up and code simple games with a little hands-on time?
