|
|
Hi,
i'm new here so first i want to say hi to everybody.
I'm a linux user, so sadly, GlovePIE doesn't work for me out of the box. I tried it with WINE (the program and the alcohol), but both didn't work.
Then i tried to get it working in a VMware virtual machine. I installed BlueSoleil and it successfully connects to my wiimote (blinking leds) and holds the connection. So bluetooth itself doesn't seem to be the problem. T
But when i start GlovePIE nothing happens. There is no connection to the wiimote. I tried several different wiimotes (which worked when i used GlovePIE on a XP notebook) and used a script called something like "wiimote connection test", which only confirmed that no wiimote was found by GlovePIE.
It may be a non vmware related problem, so any useful advice would be appreciated, but my guess is that is has something to do with vmware. Although i can't think of any reason for that.
Thanks in advance,
Esshahn |

I was sucsefully test glovePIE with vwmare in a VISTA virtual machine.
I also got the same problem you mentioned, and solved it , by resetiing the "memory" of the wiimote, unplagging the battery, replug and the reconect to the virtual machine.
donno why but it worked!
Of course the bloutoth device must be shared to the virtual machine. |

I can't get GlovePIE to find my Wiimotes in Vista anyways. They work in XP (just), which is alright, but it still feels like a chore. Why are these Wiimotes so damn hard to connect? I'm even getting problems connecting with my Wii now. _________________ Wiimote Mods wanted for:

Thanks for your help. Sadly, this didn't work out for me.
Still this setting:
- bluesoleil finds and connects wiimote (newest software version 5.0.5.178)
- leds keep flashing
- neither glovepie nor wiinremote find the wiimotes
- testet 2 different wiimotes, both "old" ones
- took batteries out and plugged them back in, no change
- tried glovepie with and without bluetooth fix and auto connect
- usb bluetooth stick worked fine on my XP machine with bluesoleil and glovepie (remember, i try to use it with vmware now)
Well, i guess i have to find another way. Except any of you has another tip for me. Also, it might help if everyone who failed to connect the wiimote & glovepie and tried the usual tips in this forum would post his/her setting, so this thread becomes a bit more important... |

Hey Everybody,
after i tried several other tipps which didn't work out i found the solution to at least my problem. I'll share it gladly, hoping to help others who were as frustrated as me.
Previously, i used XP. Now i installed Vista in a virtual machine - and it worked right out of the box, the usual way, with bluesoleil + glovePIE.
So if anybody is stuck and using XP, you might give it a try. It might be a good idea to post if it worked, so that this thread becomes a good starting point for problems with glovePIE in a VM.
Thanks for all your help,
Esshahn
PS: If everybody can explain why Vista works and XP does not, please enlighten me. |
