Having the same problem. Returned the Frontman and got another. Same problem.

GlovePIE doesn't seem to recognize the Guitar as such. The GUI doesn't see any of the key presses. Wiimote.Expansion reports "1" which is an error. (Nunchuck is "2" and Classic/Guitar is "3")

I'm using GlovePIE 0.30. What are you using? I'm thinking about downgrading to a Pre-Guitar version and see if it's detected as a "Classic Controller"

In case anyone was interested I've hacked up the From - Nibly GH Code out of the wiki, added some features and (very easily) made it work with the 360 guitar (easy to change back by comparing to original script).
I've added support for playing chords, mapped the whammy bar to pitch bend, and changed the strum code such that upstrumming will shift your notes up by 5, allowing you to play a 10note range.


I tried to post the script, but the board wouldn't let me somehow. It's in the wiki on the discussion page for the original script (for now) aka "Editing Talk : GlovePIE : wii midi guitar". If I flush out the script the way I intend to, I'll probably move it to it's own page, if the original author doesn't mind of course.

More changes to the script (v0.1 and v0.2 in the talk page)
Added two configurable options to control how the 'instrument' plays, varying between guitarlike, synthlike, or two deck stringed instrument like (don't ask, just try it). Fixed a bug I introduced in the last version (stuck notes during chords), but had to remove handling of the orange fret until I figure out a better way of doing it. v0.3 should have orange back in, cleaner way of configuring the script, and maybe more things I'm working on if I can figure them out. Shooting for hammer on and pull off's for a v1.0 release.
