| Well that kinda sucks for mac users. Are there any steps we could take to remedy this situation? |

We'd have to write a new JSR082 implementation in C++ using Mac OS X Bluetooth library. I'm not a very good C++ programmer. Here's a link to the API if anyone's interested (it's laid out a bit weirdly. There's a tiny tiny "Next Page" button in the bottom right corner).
The JSR082 library API is here. We'd have to use JNI to bind the C++ methods to Java classes (I should be able to help with that. We just need to get the initial code written first).
EDIT: Actually, I should probably do the JNI stuff first. Thankfully, we only have to implement the javax.bluetooth part of the API. OBEX is not necessary. If someone will pledge to code the C++ part of the code, I'll do the JNI stuff first (it will be easier that way). _________________ Cha0s |

Currently there is this open source project:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/javabluetooth/
If we can concentrate putting our efforts in one place, then I believe we all stand to gain. |

Javabluetooth is dead and never really worked on the Mac in the first place. The best approach to creating JSR-082 for the Mac is starting from the ground-up. I will repeat what I said before: if someone is interested in coding the C++ portions of the library, I'll set up the JNI bindings. _________________ Cha0s |
