Hey guys! I think Cwiid is completely awesome, and I hope you continue to develop it more. I was excited when I figured out how to use my Xbox controller with Windows and Linux... so you can imagine how excited I am to hear about this.
Anyways, went out and bought a Wiimote and bluetooth adapter (the bluetooth adapter I'm kinda upset about because I HAD one, but I can't friggin find it now.)
Got my Gentoo set up correctly after about 2 hours of fiddling with stuff. Apparently, uinput doesn't work if you make it built into the kernel... however, switch it to a module, works just fine. I dunno.
Onward to the question!
Exactly how do you set up xorg.conf to read the IR controls. I read the other post in this forums, and tried that out, but of course, it didn't work.
I know Gentoo might be a little different than Ubunto.
If anybody has successfully gotten it to work with Gentoo, I'd really like to know.
For the record: all the buttons work fine. I can select items via the D-pad, open stuff up, etc. Just can't get the IR portion to work. |

I'm using gentoo and havent had any problems at all. There is no need to change anything in X except permissions for uinput (which is kernel related).
I'm probably misunderstanding you post here, but X does not read the IR data. Thats what the wiimotes IR camera is for. Cwiid picks up the data from the wiimote and calculates x,y values from that which then, depending on you application (wminput), can be sent to uinput as a mouse movement which X uses.
You need to have a working sensor bar obviously. If not, I suggest you light up two candles as a simple substitute until you get a decent sensor bar. |
