I was wondering, since we can launch GC homebrew already, wouldent it be cool to bring back some of the old gamecube apps. I was mainly thinking on GC linux, because it was really far ahead of its time back in the day, so what if someone were to compile a linux kernel that would read data off of an SD card or Disc (like the MFE distro) instead of requireing the BBA.

If anyone has any contact with the old gamecube linux team maybe talk to them. Because as far as i can tell all distros of gc linux required the BBA, something you cant hook up to the wii.

Also im just curious, does GC HB have any acsess to the wii's new hardware, such as the wi-fi card.

I'm not completely sure about this, but I think Wii hardware is not accesible when you boot from the GC part of the console, unless you find a way to exploit a hole in the firmware or something.

Actually it would be nice just to have a distro of GC linux that would run on wii, because as far as i see the GC linux distro's all stream thier files through the BBA, if we could just read them off of a memory card SD adapter it would be worth it.
