I need to take a look to the "Boot CD" that is suppose to be shipping with the Wii. It will give us a lot of clues on how to make WiiLi run.

don't you think it can be very possible for nintendo to squash your efforts with one firmware update? like disable all the ways you are trying to connect to outside media from the wii?
that would suck.

Also, once the project gets some momentum, you should contact Nintendo and see if you can get some support. Who knows, they might endorse the project themselves!
