| I would definetly be interested in being able to stream MP3s from my computer via 802.11 to the Wii to play through my home theater system. The ability to play older less popular ROMS through emulation that nintendo most likely wont include as a virtual console option would be awesome as well. |

| Quote: | | How about somehow storing Linux on the Wiimote itself it's a long shot but then you could easily take the OS anywhere. Maybe when you connect the Wiimote with Linux on it to the Wii a new Linux channel will show up that you can boot off of. This is kinda really really out there but would be sweet |
Thats a good idea, how long do you guys think it will be before someone mods the Wiimote and adds more memory? |

If only I could multi-quote with ease....
The simplicity of it all is MythTV can do nearly anything that has been requested from Jukebox to MAME to streaming video. With a simple NFS or SMB mount from a network location or external hardrive OR connect to a MythTV backend you've got all your media covered. Even photo slideshows. Ah, the beauty of linux... _________________ http://www.eviltechmonkey.com |

| A Cool feature would be to play the native music file formats from the game cd-roms that are probably the same as the ones used on the gamecube(DSP, ADX, ADP, etc.) and movies(THP). Because now i need to rip them by downloading roms(which is illegal) and rip the audio from the iso which is the only thing i'm interested in(plus it's faster to get it from my own disc). |

I'd like to stress again why features should be requested on the forum and limited users can edit the Wiki.
Requests have come in for anti-malware and a firewall. Um, it's linux!! You can't get malware. Secondly, you'll need a router just to get online so the firewall part is covered too.
Next, request for screensavers. Obviously a Windows user. The Xscreensavers package is already the best around.
OpenOffice?? Unless there is support for a USB keyboard how many people are going to be typing documents on their Wii?
Mediaportal - Another Windows thing. MythTV already covers all that.
Wine? At least it was a linux request. Sadly, Win32 on PPC just won't be pretty. So.. no!
I hesitate to delete the entries as someone might be offended. A 'strikethrough' option is needed to cross stuff out. Also, can bullet points be set in a manner (DHTML perhaps?) that can be dragged and dropped to reorder the list with ease. It'd be nice to move the senseless stuff to the bottom and the useful stuff to the top. _________________ http://www.eviltechmonkey.com |
