If you want a fast easy linux compatible bluetooth solution right away and there is a Radioshack in your area, get down there! They sell two different bluetooth usb adaptors, both identically priced.
I bought the "bluespoon", and I was ecstatic when it worked right out of the box on my linux partition. It comes with a windows driver CD as well.
I can't post a link due to new user restrictions set on the forum, but just remember the name "Bluespoon"
I can't vouch for the other adapter they sell. Maybe someone else will let me know.
The guy at the store told me that the bluespoon in particular was a pretty popular item, a claim that seems supported by the fact that the Radioshack online store is completely sold out of them right now (popularity of hardware = good = more/better support). |

Sorry for the double post, but I need to add two things:
1.) Bluespoon is tested and confirmed working with Glovepie on windows 2000. I'd never heard of bluesoleil before I came to these forums... maybe it uses it, maybe it doesn't. Whatever the case, it works great with the software off the included cd-rom.
2.) I already had the Bluez package installed when I plugged it in under linux. I'm not sure if you need that already installed for it to be automatically detected.
Again, sorry for the double post. |
