Im pretty sure you are wrong there with the assumption that it cant read over 1.4gb. I have read several forum posts from users stating that it will read over 1.4gb as long as it filename starts after the filesystem name.
I just got my Wii modded and ill let you know once and for all tonight. |

The drive in the Wii is technically capable of reading Video DVD discs.
The Game Cube mode does not prevent the head from seeking past the end of a Game Cube disc. At least not in such a way you can't just soft mod the drive back into Wii mode. After all, that drive backdoor works both on the internal port and the "unspecified" port.
When running code on the Wii, you can do the same as a drive chip. |
