I say dont bother making it. No one seems to get the right grasp of the wii menu...and all of them are crappy, and pointless. If you wanted to play a game, you would click the icon on your desktop, but using this, its a waste of time just for a cheap graphical immitation that makes you feel special because your 'PC LOOKS LIKE THE WII OMG!!!'
But then again you are making it because people want it (which i dont know why...) so go ahead.
Thats like making a program that when it starts up, it shows the Sega logo and some guy says 'SEGAAAAA' yet the next scene your playing Quake 4. Pointless.
And did you know there are people who actually think this program is considered on OS? |

you have a point there. it is pointless, in a way. its really only for the nostalgia purposes. but it has its usefulness, sir. let's say you have 36 games, but your desktop is full of icons already. this program can be of use, because not only does it provide a preview image of the game you want to choose, but you can organize them in a pattern which suits your desire. A-Z, most popular, etc. and you can put "shortcuts" to all your games all in one place.
i didnt create my version for a purpose at all, to be honest. i did it out of boredom, as i have said before. since my last version i've learned alot more, and i have actually BOUGHT a wii now..so i could make mine extremely identical now, even animated channels. digital clock. all that good stuff. but im thinking about doing the xbox 360 interface instead |

i think you know what to add. sorry i dont have enough posts.
I REALLY want this project to continue. Please keep making it. None of them are really realistic. I dont have enough money for a wii so i plan on converting my laptop into one. Also could you try and make mii and disc channels real. Just search mii channel or disc channel on youtube. |

Hi bigjohn8411,
If your interested, I could make a video of the Wii menu, showing all its features and what happens when you click this, or hover over that, etc. and then post it on a site and email you the link.
What language are you planning to write it in? If its C# I'd be more than happy to help. (As you can see in my signature )
If you are planning on making a "Virtual Wii" (I know it's not an emulator, just a menu) so to speak, would you be willing to have a partner in the project? If so, I would love to help, because I have also been making my own "Virtual Wii", and I just don't have the time to spend on it, but if there were two of us....
Please consider,

um. i already made my own, but what i was saying in my previous post, is that i want to entirely scrap my old code, and re-build a new one from scratch. re-do everything, even the music and sounds. now that i have a wii, i'm sure i could make a 100% accurate one. the only problem is finding the time! |
