I purchased 3 Wii Remotes on Wii Launch day last year and all 3 of work fine with GlovePie. New remotes however are not compatible with GlovePie nor do they add the same amount of BlueTooth peripherals in Windows.

I got that Remote with Wii Play, but it's the same one that you will find in stores. You can identify them by looking at the left side of the remote, if you spot the CE0125 info printed on the plastic, then it's a new remote and it's not compatible.

Obviously, Nintendo is trying to stop people from purchasing Wii Remotes for the soul purpose of using them on PC in order to be sure that Wii owners will have enough (they can't meet the demand).

that's not true, I have 2 remotes, both work fine on my pc and both sport the printed CE 0125.

I have had both these remotes since I got my wii 3 months ago, and have had no trouble connecting them to my pc. its not possible for nintendo to stop us connecting them to our pc (unless they start using a passcode which the wii console will also need to know)

but the CE 0125 mark is not a way to tell if they will not work with your computer.

make sure you don't have too many devices connected to your bluetooth adapter already Smile there may be a more simple problem you are having

The only BlueTooth devices I have are the Wii Remotes. There is no other explanation but the one I gave. I tried running that Wii remote on 3 computers and I have the same results.

well we need more people with newer remotes, to find out if this is a problem, Does the new wiimote work fine on your console then?

(I'm not trying to say you are lying or anything. Just that you can't say that the CE0125 marking identifies the "new" remotes, when I have two that work perfectly with my pc)

Lol, a busted Wiimote would make me look like an idiot now wouldn't it Razz

But no, it's been my main Wiimote to play on my Wii ever since I got it, so it works just fine.

your main wiimote, and your wii is off when you are trying to connect it to your computer?

try this, turn on your wii, turn on your remote (so it connects to the wii) then turn off the wii via the power button on the REMOTE, then try syncing it to your pc as usual

Already verified that, plus, the 3rd PC is not even in the same room as the Wii. Telling you man, I smell a Nintendo conspiracy, I'll call the X-Files.
