|
|
I really hope this gets fixed soon.
I get 2.5ish meter distance with Johnny Lee's whiteboard application, led facing away from sensor.
I get 2 meter Max with 1 dot at GlovePIE, LED facing sensor.
I get 1 meter Max with 2 dots at GlovePIE, LEDS facing sensor.
I get 2 cm Max with 3 dots at GlovePIE, LEDS facing sensor.
And i was looking foreward and preparing myself all week to get started making a 6Dof fakeTrackIR script.
now it looks like it's all out of reach again untill this bug gets fixed.

Can you explain a bit what do you mean with those distances?
I'm also interested in head tracking with wiimote. But I think I will begin with the wiiyourself! library to earn experience with the IR cam behavior and the geometry involved. If I ever begin... |

If you are using GlovePIE's built in distance calculations, then it only works with two dots. And it depends on the sensor bar separation which you need to set correctly either from the CP-Settings menu or in your script.
If you want to calculate 6DOF with 3 dots then you need to write the code yourself. |

I had some time to spent and revised the free track source. I did a translation of the Alter's equations implementation on free track to glovepie language and ended up with the 6DOF tracking (at last!! )
I'm trying to contact the free track authors to give me permission to share the script, as I just used their work. If they agree I'll post it on the forum.
The truth is that they are going to support wiimote's camera on the next release of free track and all this won't be very useful then. But if someone needs to do special things (like me, I'm using the script to calibrate my hmd's tracking data) it will be here to anyone interested. |
