(Advance warning - I know next to nothing about bluetooth, having never dabbled in it prior to this evening ).
After seeing all the usual videos of people controlling their PC's with the wiimote, I gave in and bought a USB Bluetooth adapter today to try it out for myself. Unfortunately, I'm not having much luck thus far...
I got the D-Link DBT-122 (this beast here: http://www.dlink.com.au/Products.aspx?Sec=1&Sub1=18&Sub2=39&PID=211).
First I tried (unsuccessfully) to connect to the wiimote with the drivers supplied (and updated ones from the d-link site) - it picks up the remote, but when trying to 'add' it, it kept asking for the PIN and wouldn't let me press the skip button to go to the next section of setup (like step 6 shown here: http://www.ch0p.com/wiiki/index.php?title=Wiimote_Tutorial)
I then read up online about it and downloaded BlueSoleil from the official site. It installed okay, but when I boot it up, there's nothing in the orange circle in the middle of the screen - it doesn't seem to be picking up the adapter. It displays a "Please insert bluetooth adaptor" message at the bottom in the status bar. I've tried booting it with the adaptor out and in, and with the d-link drivers installed/uninstalled, but still no luck. Am I missing a vital step here, or does this sound like the adapter isn't compatible with BlueSoleil (and hence I can't really use it for the wiimote)
Thanks! |

BlueSoleil doesn`t work with every bluetooth adapter, there might be a compatibility list somewhere
im currently using the software that came with my bluetooth adapter and it doesn't work as well as I would like it to, so I would also like to find out how to configure BlueSoleil to find out if my adapter isn't supported or if im doing something wrong

| Are you guys using the drivers that came with the adapter, or the Microsoft drivers? I uninstalled my original drivers and installed the MS ones, then installed BlueSoleil, works perfectly. |

I'm using the ones that came with the adapter (also tried the updated ones from the D-Link site).
Possibly a stupid question...where do I get the Microsoft BlueTooth drivers? When I plug it in with no drivers installed (or only BlueSoliel installed) it comes up with the New Hardware Wizard thingo - do I just let it go thru with it's "Do you want to connect to Windows Update?" stuff?
Edit: it proceeding through doesn't work - it says it can't find nesecary software/drivers, etc etc |

| Oh...doesn't seem to work for this one. It pops up with the usual New Hardware window, but doesn't install drivers automatically, nor does it find any even if you let it connect to 'Windows Connect' |

XD I just got this adapter working yesterday.
You need to install the drivers from the cd, just like you did. But you also noticed that the "Skip Pairing" button doesn't work
To fix, you install the bluetooth stack (Drivers 1.42 Build 10 - See how they're labeled "Updated Widcomm software - no security key needed") from here: http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=34&pv=52&sec=0
You unzip, and run the dbt120_driver_14210\D-Link BTW 1.4.2.10\Inst.exe. Restart and skip pairing should work consistently. |
