XD I just got this adapter working yesterday.

You need to install the drivers from the cd, just like you did. But you also noticed that the "Skip Pairing" button doesn't work Razz

To fix, you install the bluetooth stack (Drivers 1.42 Build 10 - See how they're labeled "Updated Widcomm software - no security key needed") from here: http://www.dlink.com/products/support.asp?pid=34&pv=52&sec=0

You unzip, and run the dbt120_driver_14210\D-Link BTW 1.4.2.10\Inst.exe. Restart and skip pairing should work consistently.

AAAAAAARGH! Still not working. This time it's a different problem though. I reinstalled the CD drivers, downloaded the updated ones with the Widcomm stack from the link provided. Then I go through the setup, it goes through the disabling/uninstalling of old stuff before finally spitting out the error message: "Internal error 2753. f84988_btins.dll".

I've downloaded the file and tried it on two separate machines, so it's not a corrupted installer due to an un-finished download or anything.

...aaand if I try to install the DBT-120 drivers with widcomm stack without having installed the provided drivers for the 122, the installer continues past the point where it fell over before, but when it gets to the "Please insert your bluetooth USB device" stage, it doesn't recognize the adapter when you plug it in.

Any ideas?

hi,

Yesterday (friday) I bought a used dbt-122,

I had the very same problem as you when I first installed the dbt 122 with with out the original cd installation wizard. windows Xp offer you a faster installation by scanning the cd for working drivers.. and at the end, windows poped my a ''installation complete,... and ready to use'' information.. but still, wiin remote didn't saw the wiimote. I made it work by installing the drivers using the installation wizard.. Then I installed bluesoleil software but I don't think you need it. After the correct installation, you will see a new icon in the desktop and in the row of small icons running next to the clock. (bottom right). Left click on this and run the bluetooth device wizard. then choose option 1. '' I know the service I wana use... ''

then choose HIC devices. a new screen will pop up then automatical press button 1 and 2 to put the wiimote in discovery mode. A new device called nintendo .. something should appear. click next, ok, confirm everythings..

If a pairing request appear, just skip it..

now wiin remote should see your wiimote Wink

That's the problem I'm having - it's detecting the remote, but won't let me skip the pairing request - when you push the button, nothing happens. Sad

Make sure the 1+2 buttons are still held down at the time.

Following these instructions (and holding 1 + 2 the whole time as CarlKenner pointed out...doesn't seem to work if you don't), I get all the way through to this screen:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~hocking/wii/wii1.jpg

There aren't any PIN-entry screens using this method.

However..it doesn't go anywhere from here. I push Finish, the lights on the wiimote eventually stop blinking and go back to all being un-lit, and it doesn't say anywhere obvious on-screen that the remote's connected.

The other way of going to 'My Bluetooth Places' and then 'Search for Devices in Range', right-clicking 'Nintendo RVL-CNT-01' when it appears in the list (http://members.iinet.net.au/~hocking/wii/wii2.jpg), 'Connect Device', then Yes on the 'Click Yes to Connect to Human Interface Device' gives this dreaded screen:
http://members.iinet.net.au/~hocking/wii/wii3.jpg

Unfortunately, clicking the 'Skip Pairing' button does nothing - the window doesn't close, nor does it proceed to the next stage. I also tried holding 1 and 2 throughout this whole time, and it still didn't help.

*sigh*...and here was I thinking it'd be easy to connect the wiimote to the PC and use it Razz

Taunting as it may seem, this is what the screens look like when it works. http://nevada.lambdacomplex.org/wiimote.swf

Haha, I appreciate seeing what it *should* look like anyway. If you get past this stage, is there any way to tell it's connected? Like, do the LED's stay on on the remote, or is it displayed in a list in 'My Bluetooth Places' or anything?

Also, Maxious, did you get any error when installed the DB-120 drivers with the widcomm stack (like "Internal error 2753. f84988_btins.dll")?

Thanks again! Smile

Edit: Following those steps in the video exactly, it's now letting me get past the skip pairing stage, and pressing 'Done' on the next screen...but from there, it's not going anywhere. The little Bluetooth icon down in the system tray doesn't go green like in your video, and I'm not seeing any sign of life to show that the controller has actually connected...
